Would you like to be an agent for positive change in the Americas? Have you ever wondered what it would be like to help guide a world-changing organization just as it’s beginning to rapidly grow? How about the excitement of affirmatively impacting the lives of tens of thousands of people?
We envision a future in which the classical music of Latin America has contributed to the strengthening of inter-American relations within this hemisphere. This idea is not new: during the mid-20th century, our hemispheric relations were enhanced by learning about and performing the music of the Americas. Some have referred to this as musical Pan-Americanism, but by whatever name, we believe that this is an idea that is worth reviving and re-imagining.
We are looking for someone who is bold and boundary-pushing, and who is excited by the opportunity to put into action a challenging, yet ambitious plan.
We’d be thrilled to talk with you about our goals and objectives, but in the meantime, we invite you to review a pair of documents from our board handbook:
a one-page overview of our organization, and
a synopsis of the essential characteristics of a CILASiM board member.
